DID YOU KNOW ?

The Doors compose the music for a corporate film for Ford
In 1966, when a contract at Columbia had come to nothing and even before they signed to Elektra Records to release their 1st album, the DOORS were hired by Parthenon Pictures to provide an instrumental soundtrack to a film by company intended for the training of employees of the Ford Motor Company.

The 25 min film is titled "Love Thy Customer". It is produced and directed by David Bowen for "Parthenon Pictures", a company that no longer exists.

the soundtrack is believed to have been composed while the DOORS watched the film on a monitor at Rampart Studios in Los Angeles.

With approximately 15 minutes of original music, including passages that sound eerily similar to tracks such as "Build Me A Woman" and "I Looked At You", the film gives fans and collectors a taste of the early musical style and sound. of the group.
Music is usually heard in the background behind a narrator's voice, sometimes the volume is increased between segments for clear listening.

Due to the instrumental nature of the soundtrack, Jim Morrison was probably not obligated to participate in the recordings. There is also no evidence indicating his presence in the studio.

Although the finished film remained intact and officially released on the DVD & Blu-Ray 'R-Evolution' in 2013, the reels from the recording sessions seem to be totally lost today...

A surprising story, when a few years later, Morrison absolutely refused to sell the rights to "Light My Fire" to car manufacturer Buick.
