MYTHICAL PLACES

The Doors Workshop, 8512 Santa Monica Blvd - Los Angeles, CA

From the year 1968 and until 1972, this building will become the central point of activity of the Doors.

Converted into a minimalist recording studio upstairs, the group then named the place: "The Doors Workshop" (L'Atelier des Doors.) It then became the place for many rehearsals.

It is also there that was recorded from November 1970 to January 1971, "LA Woman", the last album during Jim Morrison's lifetime. For the record, Morrison took his shots from his seat on a toilet, his microphone in hand.

The place has undergone several changes over time, it was a restaurant for a while before becoming an atmospheric bar, the latter having recently closed its doors.

A commemorative plaque is still present today...
