THE CIRCLE

Born March 4, 1946 as Patricia Kennely, which she later changed to Kennealy, Patricia has been studying journalism since her teenage years. In 1967, she studied at Binghamton University where she obtained a degree in English literature, then also studied at Oxford University.

She then moved to New York, where she ended up as editor-in-chief of Jazz & Pop magazine. She is the magazine's first female rock critic.

It was during this period that she met as part of an interview in January 1969, a certain Jim Morrison. Subsequently, she and Morrison become lovers and begin a long-distance relationship.

Passionate and adept in esotericism, Kennealy practices Celtic paganism and exchanges marriage vows with Morrison during a pagan ceremony in June 1970. Patricia calls herself from then on: Patricia Kennealy-Morrison and uses the nickname "Lizard Queen" . Morrison meanwhile will take it all lightly...

Throughout this relationship, Jim Morrison will return to both the arms of Patricia Kennealy and Pamela Courson, constantly making the two women speculate on the possibility of a life together...

Despite this, Patricia had a strong impact in the recognition of Jim's work as a poet, thanks to the publication of his hand in 1970, of a favorable review for the double collection "The Lords and The New Creatures".

When the DOORS singer died in 1971, Patricia was very touched. In 1991, however, she agreed to be a consultant on Oliver Stone's film about the DOORS, helping actress Kathleen Quinlan to play her own role and even making a short appearance in front of the cameras as high priestess during the sequence showing this pagan union ceremony.

Nevertheless, Patricia like many, will not be fully satisfied with the final result of Stone's film, declaring that she did not recognize or hardly recognize the people visible on the screen. She therefore began in response to the latter, writing her memoirs: "Strange Days - My Life with and without Jim Morrison.", before turning to writing a series of heroic-fantasy novels from name of "Keltiad".

Long criticized by fans for naming herself and promoting Morrison, there's no doubting her deep love for her 'Lizard King'.

Patricia Kennely passed away on July 21, 2021.
